WALLA WALLA, Wash. — A woman is behind bars after police arrested her for chasing people in a Walla Walla park with a machete.
Officers responded to Wildwood Park in Walla Walla for reports about a woman threatening people with a machete.
Officials observed the woman, later identified as Shelby Brown, 35, yelling at people that she was going to kill them.
Police cleared out the park while waiting for back-up.
Officers said they tried to de-escalate the situation and then attempted to use a pepper ball gun, but ended up having to use a taser deployment.
Medics transported Brown to a hospital to be checked out and then booked her into the Walla Walla County Jail on charges for felony threats, unlawful carrying of a weapon and resisting arrest.
